HELP

Isn't it strange if gravity, energy, matter, consciousness and all existence grew from a bang out of something without time or space.

Like an embryo in a seed.

And then out of this mysterious cosmic wonder came knee socks, egg cookers, port wines and latest news on television.

One might as well wonder what strange force it was that billions of years ago began to schroud this barren planet with life.

Knife and fork, brooms ... Strange fruits that life produced.

Or has our modern civilization rendered us incapable of wonder?

I have selected some Youtube clips that show moments of ‘help’.

In the vicinity of humans, safe from enemies and food secured, there is room for a broader trust. In the wild, the rules are stricter and interactions more reserved.

I know there may be objection to some clips; sure some were lucky moments, but surely there are some rigged also. The fact that some clips may be arranged, or show inappropriate animal husbandry, does not prevent the animals from acting.

The first example is a cat helping a smaller cat to enter.

Notice the arm supporting
the belly of the little cat
just as it jumps down

One may wonder what the cat actually did

Notice that the cub is allowed to try for itself

Mother bear just makes sure
that the cub is secured backwards
(Ok, may be a small push then)

Speaking of swimming around and not coming up...
In a laboratory environment it is called FST (’forced swim test’),
a normal procedure to induce stress and depression
in mice used for research

Anxiety and grief in a little mouse's body
is not as easy to perceive
as the sadness in this dog's eyes
but is just as real

When offspring is threatened
hares bite snakes
mice chase cats
chicks attack eagles
Here's a clip to think about

It seems that clips showing
animals being rescued are crowd magnets
Some who want to be in focus take advantage of that
even to the cost of mistreatment of the animal being ’rescued’.
The formula is simple: put an animal in a dangerous situation, make a footage, post it online.

about this phenomenon:

This is another kind of rigging
The turtle's predicament has been caused
by the same species that saves it
In that sense, the clip is rigged

Was this what the videomaker
hoped/knew would happen?
Why filming
instead of helping?
How much is staged?

Here comes help from all sides
Bird, goat and then general commotion

The archetype of helplessness must surely be
beetles and turtles laying on their back
without a chance to flip back

A valid question is how this turtle managed
to flip on a smooth floor like this

Yet another turtle on its back
How do they do that?

A scene to think about
